US Marshals are not the main police force for small towns. When the "Mayor" stated that the marshal would be discussed at the next town supervisors (town magistrates in Kentucky) - it holds no weight. US Marshals are deployed wherever the Federal government needs them.The Town Marshal is the chief police officer of the town and has the powers of other law enforcement officers in executing the orders of the Town Council and enforcing laws.
