General Nhuan (or in fact Mystique) is wearing both medals and ribbon bars in the meeting with Trask. Ribbon bars are used instead of medals in service uniforms. Wearing medals on the right side of uniform is however not uncommon in Vietnam according to historic photographs.Nhuan's "hero of" medal also looks more like USSR version than Vietnamese Hero of the People's Armed Forces medal that has the Vietnamese flag and other details in the middle of the star.
