Tituba is depicted as being black, portrayed by actress Ashley Madkwe, who is of Nigerian and English descent. The real Tituba was almost certainly Native American. While her exact origins have been lost to time, she is repeatedly referred to in records of the witch crisis as "Tituba Indian", indicating that she is of indigenous descent.
