When Lamia breaks Septimus' arm, he drops his sword and dies about 8 feet away from that point. As Tristan passes him in a later scene, the sword is shown about 1 foot from his outstretched hand. Finally, when Lamia removes the voodoo doll from the water, the sword is lying directly in his hand for him to grab.
