Grandma Wendy tells Maggie that 80 years ago her neighbor enjoyed her stories of her and Peter so much that he began to write about them. The movie takes place in 1991. This would suggest that J.M. Barrie began writing about Peter Pan around 1911. However, the character Peter Pan first appeared in a book called, "The Little White Bird," which was published in 1902, years prior to 1911. This makes Wendy's claim inaccurate.
