The castle where Jack is being kept prisoner is supposed to be on an island in a lake in the middle of the Arabian desert. Besides the fact that there are no lakes in the middle of the Arabian desert, when the castle (stock footage) is shown, it is several hundred feet up on a cliff, no lake is visible anywhere, and it is surrounded by (obviously European) mountains.
