(at around 26 mins) The alien ship blocks out all of the satellite dishes on the roof of David's office building, however when he returns to his office all monitors still show they have a signal. Just a few minutes before they were complaining of the interference caused by the alien signal. The ship blocking the satellite entirely would have caused a complete blackout of all blocked signals similar to the solar interference experienced in early March and October.
