When Tarzan joins the humans as they get on the rowboat headed to their ship, Clayton is with them, pushing the boat off and hopping in. When Tarzan climbs up the ladder into the ship and is attacked, Clayton stops the commotion with a shot from his rifle. Tarzan asks for help, and Clayton supposedly doesn't recognize him in his father's suit, even though he was just seen in a rowboat with the rest of them.
