During some of the montages showing the US build up in the Caribbean, both the aircraft carriers USS Forrestal (CVA-59) and USS Saratoga (CVA-60) are seen. Both ships were deployed to the Mediterranean at the time and were not involved with the build up in the Caribbean. although it would be assumed they would be on the alert just the same in case of action in their area.
