When flight 412 is preparing for take-off, the tower instructs them to proceed to "runway 61". Runways are numbered by their compass heading minus the last digit. So a runway that points due east (compass heading 90) would be designated as runway 9. A runway facing due west would be numbered 27. (Heading 270) There cannot be a runway designated as 61 as there is no compass heading 610.
