When Ray quizzes Tim about who was the last Giants player to win MVP, Tim quickly answers Barry Bonds. The scenes filmed at Candlestick Park took place during the 1993 season which was Bonds first season with the Giants and he was the MVP the previous season with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Because the film was released in 1994 both Ted Danson and Macaulay Culkin had to redub this line in order to keep up with the current time of the film's release. Prior to 1993 when Bonds was National League MVP, the previous Giants player to win the award was Kevin Mitchell in 1989. The original script has Kevin Mitchell listed instead of Barry Bonds but since Bonds won the award while the film was in post production, Ted Danson and Macaulay Culkin were brought back to dub in the new lines for initial release in June 1994.
