When Max is caught in the pool, Fanny turns on the water and eventually the pool is filled with brackish water. The next day, the pool is still brackish and almost empty again. And the day after that while Max is playing tennis, the pool is full with typical pool blue water. To change from brackish to a clear blue overnight would certainly take much longer and use a big supply of chemicals.
