If Picard was able to go back in time to stop Soran, why didn't he just go back further in time a few more days before his brother's and nephew's deaths? They had just recently died a few days before the conflict with Soran, so Picard could have warned his brother and nephew of their doom and also had a few extra days to stop Soran and his evil scheme.
