Vadassy sees the camera in Roux's robe. When Roux starts arguing with Duclot, Roux picks up the robe and heads up the staircase. Still arguing with Duclot, he drops (throws) the robe (down). There is no clunk of the camera on the staircase. After Roux leaves, his wife, Odette, picks up the robe and it is limp and doesn't look like it contains a camera. Later, Vadassy shows up at Roux's room and sees the camera on the bed.
