Turing gives a long explanation of "the imitation game" as a framing device for the entire movie. However, he gives what most modern people think of as the Turing test, not the test he originally proposed. People today think of the test as having a judge try to distinguish a human respondent from a computer. In Turing's original paper, the contest had the judge trying to figure out it was a male human or a computer trying to imitate a female (the female was also answering questions).
