Masashi commits suicide on the rooftop as Kyoko is giving birth, by jumping off. The last time the audience saw him, he was on that same rooftop talking to Kyoko, who was visiting him. Either he was just left on that rooftop alone and never returned to his room by the hospital staff (which he'd need help with since he's wheelchair bound) or he somehow traveled to the rooftop by himself alone to commit suicide without any assistance from anybody.
