San Angeles is described as being a city built upon the the ruins of three major Southern California cities, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Santa Barbara, that were leveled during the big earthquake of 2010. The new city is completely modern and shows no remnants, buildings, streets, etc., from the former towns and cities that have existed before it. However, it is not possible for even the biggest of earthquakes triggered by the San Andreas fault to cause a quake that would completely destroy the many cities and towns spread out over such a large area. Los Angeles, San Diego, and Santa Barbara and the towns between them, are hundreds of miles apart and depending on the strength and epicenter of such a quake each would have varying levels of damage from it most of which would be repairable after such a quake.
