When Hooper is examining Chrissie Watkin's corpse, he attributes the attacking squalus (shark) as Longimanus or Isurus Glaucus. Carcharhinis Longimanus is the pelagic White Tip Shark, and wouldn't come close to shore. Its bite would never be mistaken for a great white's. Isurus Glaucus is a Short Fin Mako, and is only found in the Pacific Ocean, not the Atlantic, as the Isurus Oxyrinchus would be.
