A helicopter looking for the monster in the ocean is blown up by the radioactivity emitted by the monster. However, the helicopter that blows up--or, more accurately, the model of the helicopter that blows up--is a Westland Whirlwind, a license built version of the Sikorsky H-19, which is an entirely different helicopter and larger than the Westland Dragonfly, a license built version of the Sikorsky H-5 that was shown searching for the monster just before it blew up.
