When George Beckwith (David Jansen) and Sergeant Muldoon (Aldo Ray) are discussing/arguing the state of the South Vietnamese constitution, Muldoon asserts that it took 'eleven years of peaceful effort' to arrive at the United States Constitution. In reality, the Constitution was hammered out in one summer of negotiation in Philadelphia after it became apparent to everyone that the nation under the Articles of Conderation was on its way to becoming a miserable failure. Further, the convention was originally called to revise the Articles, not to scrap them and devise something largely different and way better that might work - and has, for about two hundred and fifty years.
