When Calibos stabs the bag containing Medusa's head with his prosthetic hand (a three-tined fork-like appliance), a huge quantity of Medusa's blood gets on it. As Medusa's blood is so caustic that it can dissolve a shield made by the gods, Calibo's prosthetic should have dissolved.
