At 1:00:48 into the movie, Hans is pointing a Mauser rifle at Tom, Jody and Samantha with the safety straight up. That would put a Mauser rifle on safe and lock the bolt in place as well as blocking the sights. At 1:17:39 Hans is threatening Hans with the safety straight up, again putting the rifle on safe, blocking the sights and locking the bolt.
