While researching in India, when Ian meets Salomina for the first time, they are out in the open in a very public place surrounded by people. He takes the little girl by her hand and walks her to his hotel nearby and takes her up to is hotel room. It is unrealistic and absurd to think that no one in a public place would notice or be alarmed that a strange man from another country (USA) just walked an 8 year old girl he just met to a nearby hotel and took her up to his room. Also as unlikely is the depiction that this little girl just willfully accompanied this stranger to his hotel room without any resistance, anxiety, or panic.
