When one of B-17's in the first raid in the film is noticed to be a straggler; the colonel radios the stragglers lead aircraft to get him back up with the group. But when that pilot looks out the window to his left the plane he sees a B-17 thats direction of travel is 90 degrees from that of the formation. That would be a completely lost aircraft not a straggler. And later the next views of that plane have that aircraft just trailing the formation; not going in a completely different direction.
