The Fisherman is revealed to be the ghost of Ben Willis, but he is shown throughout to be holding a fish hook in his right hand, which was cut off at the end of the original film and replaced with a hook mounted to the stump in I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. The mechanics of the supernatural are left unanswered as to how his hand could grow back as a ghost.
