In the scene where the camp is being bombed by German warplanes, Tuvia looks up to see a Junkers Ju87 Stuka in level flight, dropping a bomb. The Stuka was a dive-bomber - it would not drop bombs in level flight, as that would be horrendously inaccurate and basically a waste of munition.
