Piranhas are shown attacking people thrown into the sea. Piranha are a freshwater fish that inhabit South American rivers and could not survive long in saltwater. They also do not usually attack in the manner portrayed in movies - a myth that was created after a "feeding frenzy" staged for Theodore Roosevelt on a visit to Brazil in 1913
