When the E4 Looking Glass is trying to intercept the VC25 Air Force One, both aircraft are able to see each other on their radars.However, these are command-and-control aircraft. They have no air-intercept radars. The E4 has a weather radar, but it can only see weather, not aircraft. In addition, radars on aircraft can only see over a smallish arc in front of them, not all around. The VC-25 could not possibly see the E4 approaching from behind.
