Elena asks where the bathrooms is and is told "Down the hall."In 1850s,, the term "bathroom" was not used for toilet, but "outhouse" or Chamber pot" were used. Such things were (in the case of single residence homes) done in an outside structure. The flush toilet wasn't in America until the late 1850s and not widespread until much, much later, in California..
