Dumbledore said, "I've always prized myself on my ability to turn a phrase" but later he said, "words are our most inexhaustible source of magic, capable of inflicting injury and remedying it." Then he says, "do not pity the dead Harry, pity the living, and above all those who live without love."Pity is not a word of compassion. It is a word which insinuates superiority over others. It is a poor choice of words for a being who claims that they can turn a phrase and think that words are important. The word should have been empathy or compassion.
