Near the end of the final battle, around 2:37:00 mark, a wounded David Crockett stumbles and tosses a torch into the powder magazine, blowing himself and a large portion of the chapel to pieces. This did not happen in the real battle, but close. Major Robert Evans, the garrison's ordinance officer, rushed to set fire to the magazine when all hope was lost. He was cut down by the Mexican soldiers short of his goal.
