When John is on top of his maglev car, it suddenly curves down the side of the building, forcing him to hang off it by his hands. Before it cuts to close-up, you can clearly see that his car is only about 5 or 6 seconds from reaching the bottom of the building and curving back to horizontal. But then he takes 45 seconds to climb and jump from car-to-car and eventually off the building - the side of the building just goes on forever as long as it needs to.
