A stone axe (tomahawk) would probably not be thrown, as they were considerably more breakable than later versions of iron or steel. Blunt war-clubs were more commonly used in combat, prior to trading with Europeans for steel axe-heads.She wasn't a warrior, she had no steel axe-heads and a war club is of no use for gathering roots. She learned to throw it in the same manner as the Chinese peasants learned to use their farming tools as weapons.
