At the end of Chapter 8, when the automobile goes off the road, three people are aboard: Terry, the driver, the woman reporter and her photographer. The POV switches to being filmed from the bottom of the cliff, to capture the fall and we can clearly see that there are no passengers on board, not even mannequins were used.
