When they are waiting for Glenn to re-enter the atmosphere and they are all standing around, looking into the sky, there is a Volkswagen Type 3 parked on the side of the road. The Type 3 was not brought to the US until the 1966 model year. All the cars at Langley were far too clean and pristine, those were collector cars not daily drivers.
