When discussing the island with the Captain and Driscoll, Denham removes a piece of paper from a leather pouch, unfolds it and places on the desk in front of the Captain. After a brief conversation, he is seen unfolding a second piece of paper and placing it on the desk. One piece was the chart with the island's position and the second was the detailed map of the island which we see onscreen.
