In one of the most famous scenes of the movie; Kevin puts aftershave on and screams with his hands on his face. Nothing in the scene either visually or spoken indicated that Kevin shaved or use a razor. Aftershave will only "burn" on sore skin that has been irritated by shaving. If anything he would have felt a cold sensation that would have been far from painful.
