When Big Joe and the men are seen moving down the hill into the town before the attack, most are carrying 5 gallon (fuel or water) jerrycans. The purpose of the cans is never explained or shown, and they are not seen again during or after the attack. This lack of explanation is not an error, it may have been cut or it may just be a MacGuffin.
