The advice to not make the river journey with children is nonsensical; two days rowing downriver equals more than a week of hiking for an adult, let alone a five-year-old, carrying all food and shelter and in hostile terrain. Compared to wandering blindfolded in such terrain for over a week the boat ride is easier. As was seen, within seconds of the final part of their journey on foot, Malorie was knocked unconscious and the children were separated.
