According to Roddy Piper on his podcast, Mr. T botched the finish of their match by completely missing what was supposed to be a knockout punch on Piper, who sold as planned by flying through the ropes to the outside, despite the punch not connecting at all. Having to improvise a new finish on the spot, an angry Hot Rod flung his corner stool at Mr. T, hitting the shocked "A-Team" actor with full force.
