A piece of wreckage at Area 51 bears the shield of the Air Force's Air Combat Command. Area 51 is located within the confines of the Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR), which is controlled and operated by Nellis Air Force Base, and is part of Air Combat Command. However, unlike Nellis, and the NTTR, Area 51 itself comes under the authority of Edwards Air Force Base, and is a part of Air Force Materiel Command.
