When Abby and Marco are in her car listening to the police scanner, they're having trouble with high-pitched audio feedback. A scanner is a receiver. A receiver cannot generate feedback. Unless there's something like a microphone or electronic pickup "feeding back" and being further amplified, there's nothing to feed back from the speaker.
