Most or all of the "AK47" style rifles in the movie are lightly-dressed Vektor R4 or R5 rifles. While derived from the Valmet, which is in turn derived from the Kalashnikov, they have a distinctly different receiver shape visible in some scenes.The Vektor rifles are very rarely exported, and would be almost unheard of in Kenya. This reveals that the production was in South Africa instead.
