The movie shows that Roy's apartment is in Scranton, Pa. The first time he is seen leaving his apartment, he drives to a bowling alley called 'Lancaster Bowl'. Scranton is over 100 miles away from Lancaster. Roy would never have to drive this far to go bowling.
