Author Johnny Marinville has a flashback to the Vietnam War in the 1960s. He sees a Tak-possessed man planting a bomb that kills over 75 people in a bar. Marinville later clearly states it was Tak he saw in Vietnam. Tak has only been recently freed, after having been buried since the mid-1800s, but Marinville states his belief that God allowed him to see the face of Tak in the bomber so that he would immediately recognize the danger when it came time for him to fight Tak/Collie Entragian.
