When David grabs the shotgun shell from his cell (at the start of the film), he slips it into his pocket. Later on, Johnny sneaks the shotgun shell out of David's pocket. This cannot be possible because Johnny was not there when David grabbed the shotgun shell - so Johnny would not know about it in David's pocket.
