At one point in the film, a military cargo/transport aircraft (see other errors listed about this aircraft) is launched from an aircraft carrier, with the sound of RATO (rocket assisted takeoff) rockets firing. In 1963, the US Navy conducted tests in which a C-130 Hercules landed and took off from the USS Forrestal. In these tests no RATO was used (although the aircraft carried a minimal crew to keep weight down), and once the testing was over it was the last time this was attempted because of its impracticality. In short, a large cargo aircraft with people and/or cargo wouldn't be flown from an aircraft carrier because it would be too heavy to take off in such a short distance, even with RATO units.
