When Harry confronts Dobby that it was him that caused himself and Ron to miss the train he mentions the word 'barrier'. A barrier is what passengers walk through to get their train. Harry should had said either a 'wall' or 'pillar'. Actually, 'barrier' may be used to refer to any kind of obstruction (whether physical or logistical), and doesn't have to be anything specific.
