On Judy's second day she returns stressed out to her car and starts to pound her head on the steering wheel. Suddenly the thief (Duke Weaselton) runs past her and the shop owner follows, stops at Judys car and yells at her that he was just robbed. Judy realizes the situation and looks behind the thief. At this point we can see that Duke has escaped to just over the street and the sidewalk in about eleven seconds in real time(!) since he started his getaway. Within eleven seconds and his running speed it can be expected that he would have reached much more distance to the flower shop than to just over the street.
