When Ryan is taken to the Dallas on the helicopter one of the helicopter crew spots the Dallas on the surface. In the following cutaway to the submarine Captain Mancuso is looking through the periscope and gives the order "Surface the ship" after Dallas was seen on the surface. Also, the command should have been "Surface the boat" since submariners rarely if ever refer to their vessels as ships.
